RoHS-Directive of the European Parliament

Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment of 8 June 2011 (recast) and Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 of 31 March 2015 amending Annex II to Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the list of substances subject to restrictions.

Directive 2011/65/EU restricts the use and placing on the market of lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium VI, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in certain electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). It came into force in July 2011 and replaced DBP), diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) as well as category 11 "other electrical and electronic equipment not belonging to any of the above categories" in the scope of the existing RoHS Directive.
