Responsible Corporate Governance

As a second-generation, family-run business, we are not driven by short-term success; we strive for healthy, lasting growth together with our customers, partners, and employees.

Marc Luksch, Managing Director of the HELU Group

CEO Marc Luksch

Leadership means responsibility—responsibility for the success and satisfaction of our customers and business partners, for the well-being of our more than 2,500 employees in over 70 countries, and for society and the environment. At HELU, we are aware of this responsibility in everything that we do. We make decisions with care and with the necessary foresight. We scrutinise our processes down to the smallest detail, always striving to improve, day by day. Our greatest strength in this regard is our well-coordinated, experienced team in which everyone can rely on one another.

Sustainable Products and Solutions

Cable Drums at HCS Bielefeld

Our products and solutions make a significant contribution worldwide across a wide range of applications in terms of energy and resource efficiency, as well as protecting people and the environment. We also strive to make our manufacturing as sustainable as possible through modern and resource-saving production facilities and processes, the use of carefully selected and tested materials, and by continuously monitoring and optimising our entire value chain. Our products are distinguished by their quality and durability, which reduces the consumption of valuable raw materials and the creation of waste. At the end of their life cycle, the majority of the materials used can be reused through recycling concepts.

Product Carbon Footprint: Making Emissions Transparent

Whenever possible, we provide you with Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data for our products. This figure describes the greenhouse gas emissions that are emitted over the entire lifecycle of the product, from the extraction of the raw materials to manufacturing, and finally to when the product leaves our warehouse. These documents can be found in our Online Shop or upon request.

REACH and RoHS: European Guidelines for Chemicals and Hazardous Materials

The European Union's REACH and RoHS regulations are standardised guidelines for the use of chemicals and other potentially dangerous materials. These regulations are also relevant for products manufactured by HELU. The respective confirmations that our company acts and manufactures in conformity with REACH and RoHS requirements can be downloaded here.

Caring for the Future

Image Sustainability

Our company understands that environmental protection is an integral part of doing business responsibly. We place great importance on the careful and efficient use of natural resources and make it our goal to consistently reduce our impact on the climate and environment.

Our primary means of recording our business-related emissions transparently and identifying actionable areas is the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF). This value describes the entirety of the greenhouse gas emissions that a company emits within a certain period of time and is broken down into three areas, known as scopes.

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from company-owned sources (e.g., heating, company vehicles)
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy (e.g., electricity, heat)
  • Scope 3: All other indirect emissions (e.g., raw materials, business travel, waste)

HELU calculates its Corporate Carbon Footprint according to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. Based on this foundation, we have taken a number of measures to conserve resources, reduce emissions, and increase efficiency.

Our Environmental Actions

Trust Begins with Procurement

Image Supply Chain

A responsible supply chain is an essential part of our company's sustainable business practices. As an internationally active manufacturer of connection technology, we work with a large number of suppliers and business partners around the globe.

At HELU, we focus is on respecting human rights, responsible procurement practices, and the reduction of environmental risks. Accordingly, we expect our suppliers to comply with current, legal requirements as well as recognised social and environmental standards.

With regard to our due diligence obligations, we analyse potential risks within our supply chain and derive appropriate preventative and corrective measures. For us, the Act on Corporate due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (LkSG) serves as a legal framework for structured and effective risk management. Our policy statement outlines the foundational principles and procedures according to which we fulfil our due diligence obligations.

Our focus is on the continuous improvement of our processes, the raising awareness among our business partners, and the gradual improvement of the underlying data. In this way, we will lay the foundation for responsible and long-term collaboration throughout our supply chain.

More than a mere employer

Our employees give their best every day to make HELU successful. That's why we, as a company, also give our best when it comes to their health and well-being.
